Department	Service Development and Systems
Purpose of Role	To define information best practice. Advise on technical direction for security products and consult directly with customers on security related issues.
Responsibilities / Main Duties	Responsible for all information security to include: policy/standards/procedures, operational services, provide security support for new information systems and products
Person Specification	Flexible, proactive individual with strong development skills. Responsible self-motivated person capable of working on multiple tasks simultaneously. Able to work within tight time-scales and manage priorities as required. Willingness to develop knowledge in the area of next generation technologies.
Specific Qualifications	University degree Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Experience Required	Experience with business continuity planning, auditing, and risk management. Must have a solid understanding of information technology and information security (including Firewalls, VPNs, penetration testing and other security devices. Familiarity and experience with ISO/17799 standard for information security management. Minimum of five years experience information security management that includes security framework risk areas, controls and solutions coming from a telecoms organisation. A relevant professional qualification (audit/security) is preferable
Knowledge Required	Knowledge of networking and computer security protocols, IP Networking, IPsec/IKE, PPTP, 802.1x/EAP, ISDN, PPP, Knowledge of authentication and access control technologies, SecurID, Kerberos, Active Directory, LDAP, Public Key Infrastructure, PAP/CHAP  Knowledge of operating system security, Solaris, HPUX, Windows NT/2000/XP, Linux, FreeBSD/OpenBSD, Cisco IOS, VXWorks.Ability to make use of open source software to efficiently solve problems where appropriate. A good understanding of IP/SDH/DWDM/VoIP networking
