Voice Implementation - Commissioning Engineer - LONDON

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To ensure the successful and timely installation and commissioning of all new voice network nodes deployments as well as the implementation and testing of new customers. To also ensure the network is running on a stable software level from our suppliers and manage the customer/vendor interface.

 

MAIN DUTIES

·        To maintain the hardware and software components of the Our client Voice network throughout Europe.

·        To install and commission new customer network connections, to act as a 1st line engineering co-ordination point throughout the testing phase of the new interconnects. Reporting the project status back to the Service Delivery Manager as required.

·        To provide ‘on call’ cover for normal out of hours maintenance.

·        Perform switch software upgrades

·        Ad hoc duties as required.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

·        HNC in Telecommunications or other relevant subject

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE

·        Experience in the day to day running and organising of a multi-disciplined workforce.

·        High Degree of understanding in complex C7 Signalling systems.

·        In-depth transmission network experience.

·        Proven customer liaison skills.

·        Able to demonstrate analytical and methodical approach to fixing network / customer faults.

·        At least 3 years experience performing interconnects and dealing with detailed 3rd line faults.

·        Knowledge of VOIP interworking.
