SALES ENGINEER - ROTTERDAM

 

Purpose of the role:

In close collaboration with sales and sales development you will be responsible for all technical aspects of the bids and solutions from our enterprise IP services product portfolio, and optical product set. The job is technical in nature and you will ensure that the solutions the carrier offer to our customer are focused and aligned to their needs. Although the role is principally technical, it is expected that the successful individual will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding the bid cycle.

 

You will be in charge of:

The consultation with customers on the design and implementation of their IP and Optical solutions.

• Building credible relationships with clients in support of the sales team.

• Assembling and leading the bid team in support of specified sales opportunities.

• Maintaining your current understanding and investigating new technology developments in the enterprise space.

• Cheking that designed solutions are technically assured and deliverable.

• Operating as an internal customer to the product management group making sure that they are commercially and technically competitive.

• Supporting channel marketing, marcom and sales in focused sales campaigns from a technical standpoint.

• Supporting sales in the development of technical proposals, presentations and solutions.

• Producing appropriate technical solution documentation and reporting regularly to management on the life cycle of all projects

• Working closely with other areas of the Telecom Carrier organisation and making recommendations to management in respect of the appropriate technical path for the development of the client relationship.

 

Person specification:

• Must be fluent in both Dutch and French

• 5 years pre/post-sales consultancy/network design experience in System Integrator/network provider.

• 5 years in a networking and implementation role within a large network provider or Systems Integrator.

• A demonstrable understanding of the carrier services marketplace incorporating technologies and products such as Dark Fibre, CoLo, Metro, Local Access and managed services such as DWDM, SDH and Wavelengths.

• An understanding of a number of the following: TCP/IP in a LAN/WAN environment, Managed Services, Remote Access Services, Legacy Networks, Security, Routing/Switching technologies.

• Clear understanding of the bid cycle.

• Its important that the successful candidate will be guided by the business need, rather than the organisational structure, can adapt quickly to changing needs and can operate effectively in an environment with few support structures in place initially.

 

Specific Qualifications:

BSc Computing/Electronics/Maths/Physics or equivalent qualification in Data & Telecommunications.
